Course Description

HCA 315 Bioethics introduces students to the ethical principles and moral issues that arise in healthcare, biomedical research, and public health practice. The course examines ethical theories, professional conduct, patient rights, informed consent, confidentiality, end-of-life care, reproductive ethics, and emerging ethical challenges in modern healthcare. Students will explore the roles and responsibilities of healthcare professionals in making ethical decisions while balancing legal, cultural, religious, and societal considerations. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and the application of ethical principles to real-life healthcare situations.
